Value-Based Health Care Delivery –
New World and Old Europe?

Once again this year, Nextep and the Medvance group will participate in ISPOR Europe, which will take place on November 2nd-6th in Copenhagen. On this occasion, we are very happy to invite you to our private event: a roundtable on Value-Based Health Care Delivery followed by a cocktail reception.

Value-Based Healthcare Delivery is a great opportunity to achieve better health outcomes at a lower cost. However, for policy makers, healthcare organizations, and pharmaceutical companies, introducing value-based models may carry important challenges: business model changes, tracking of patient’s outcomes and performance measures, data protection regulations, care coordination, shared financial risk…

Medvance, a Healthcare consultancy group specializing in Patient Access strategies, has brought together European experts from international institutions, patient organizations, academia and the pharmaceutical industry to discuss key issues surrounding Value-Based Health Care Delivery. Does Value-Based health care approach help patients access medical innovation? Do payers embark on Value-Based model to assess and evaluate medical innovations ? What type of data will be essential to this new paradigm ?

  • Christina Akerman, Former President of the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM) will explain her work to unlock the potential of value-based healthcare systems by facilitating the definition of global standards sets to measure outcomes that really matter to patients.
  • Pr. Ron Akehurst, Professor of Health Economics at the University of Sheffield (UK), will share his feeling about European providers adopting Value-based Healthcare Delivery approaches: is the US way ahead of Europe on this? Where do we, as Europeans, need to make progress?
  • Robert S. Grenne, Board member of the European Cancer Patient Coalition, Founder and President of HungerNdThirst Foundation, Patient Advocate for Inspire2Live , will address the benefits and risks of Value-Based Healthcare models and patient-reported outcomes from a patient perspective.
  • Ulf Staginnus, Senior Vice President, Head Global Market Access & Pricing at IPSEN, will share his views on patient-reported outcomes and the impact of Value-Based Healthcare on market access strategies from an industrial perspective.

Come and join us to this debate at 5:30 pm on Sunday, November 3rd at Hotel Nimb (Rotunden room), Bernstorffsgade 5, 1577 København, Denmark. This debate will be followed by a cocktail reception.
