  • Member of the European Parliament from 1994 to 2019

    Several times Vice-President of the EPP Group, responsible for :

  • Parliamentary work and Whip from 1999 to 2007;

  • Chair of the Economy-Environment working group from 2014 to 2019; in this capacity, she coordinated 6 parliamentary committees: Economy, Internal Market, Environment and Health, Industry-Research-Energy, Transportation, Employment and Social Affairs.

 

  • Full member of the ENVI Commission, Environment, Public Health and Food Safety; in this framework, she was Rapporteur of numerous texts related to the regulation of medicinal products, such as the regulation 14/2000 on orphan drugs, the regulation 1901/2006 on paediatric drugs, the “human and veterinary drugs” directives, the IMI regulation (Innovative Medicines Initiative), the European Commission’s health programmes, the 2011/24 EU directive on cross-border healthcare, etc… 

  • During these years, she worked on behalf of her group on various regulations: Tobacco, Pesticides, Endocrine Disruptors, Rare Diseases, Alzheimer’s, Cancer, HTA (Medical Technology Assessment), Antibiotic Resistance.

  • In terms of Environment, his work has focused on the fight against climate change (participation in Cop 21), with many decisions related to emissions trading (ETS), protection of biodiversity, circular economy …etc.
  • Substitute member of the ITRE Commission (industry, research, energy);
  • Rapporteur of numerous texts concerning the regulation of energy markets, space policy, and very recently, for the regulation concerning the creation of a European Defence Fund (First legislative text relating to the Europe of Defence);

  • President of the Air Quality Monitoring Network of Department 42 (AMPASEL): 1989-2008

 

  • Parliamentary Assistant: 1988-1994
  • President of the European Alliance for Alzheimer’s Disease and Co-Chair of the European Uterine Cancer Association (2007-2019)

  • Member of the national council of the Ecological Transition;

  • Member of the Political Bureau and Vice-President of Liberal Democracy in charge of European issues and the Environment until 2002;
  • Member of the Political Bureau of the UMP, then of LR from 2002 to 2019;

 

  • Today, Special Advisor to the Robert Schumann Foundation for Defence, Industry, Environment and Health;

  • Member of the Board of Directors of the Network of Cancer Centers of the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes Region;
