Françoise Grossetête

Member of the European Parliament from 1994 to 2019. Several times Vice-President of the EPP group, responsible for:

  • Parliamentary work and Whip from 1999 to 2007;
  • Chairmanship of the Economy-Environment working group from 2014 to 2019; in this capacity, she coordinated 6 parliamentary committees: Economy, Internal Market, Environment and Health, Industry-Research-Energy, Transport, Employment and Social Affairs.

Full member of the ENVI Commission, environment, public health, and food safety; in this context, she was Rapporteur of numerous texts relating to the regulation of medicines, such as regulation 14/2000 on orphan medicines, regulation 1901/2006 on pediatric medicines, the “human and veterinary medicines” directives, the IMI regulation (innovative medicine initiative), the health programs of the European Commission, directive 2011/24 EU relating to cross-border care, etc. During these years, she worked on behalf of her group on various regulations: Tobacco, Pesticides, Endocrine disruptors, Rare diseases, Alzheimer’s, cancer, HTA (medical technology assessment), antibiotic resistance. In terms of the Environment, his work mainly concerned the fight against climate change (participation in Cop 21), with numerous decisions linked to emissions trading (ETS), protection of biodiversity, circular economy…etc. Substitute member of the ITRE Commission (industry, research, energy); Rapporteur of numerous texts concerning the regulation of energy markets, space policy, and very recently, for the regulation concerning the creation of a European Defense Fund (First legislative text relating to Defense Europe)

  • Member of the Board of Directors of the Network of Anti-Cancer Centers in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes Region;
